Local shops and amenities
Coxwold – In the village we have a traditional pub serving home-cooked food seven days a week. Within a 15 minute drive from the Shepherd’s Hut, we can recommend a selection of great Gastro Pubs, Restaurants and Tea Rooms.
Ampleforth – The closest place to Coxwold for provisions and newspapers is the post office/shop which is almost opposite one of our favourite coffee shops – Kirks. Ampleforth is also where our local doctor’s surgery is located.
Easingwold – Our nearest place for good local shops and banks. On the market square you can find anything from great butchers and bakers to a hardware store, florist, wine merchant and coffee shops! Also, a Barclays Bank with cashpoint.
Helmsley – A thriving small town with lots of interesting shops centred around the lovely Market Square. Well worth a visit.
Dogs and children
The Shepherd’s is not suitable for dogs or children. We have two well-behaved black Labradors ourselves who are not allowed to roam!
For the benefit of all guests, the Shepherd’s Hut and gardens are designated as non-smoking areas.
